Why did you choose the R.I. Prospects Program?

My family chose the RI Prospects Baseball program when I was a rising junior looking to play at the college level. We made the decision based upon positive feedback from trusted friends with sons who were already RI Prospects members and were returning from previous years.

How did the program help you?

RI Prospects Baseball provided a winter training program that allowed me to strengthen and develop in preparation for my high school season.  By far the most motivating aspect of the winter program was the Prospects coaching staff.  They love baseball! Their encouragement made it easier to work hard in the offseason to attain my goals.

How did you make your college choice?

I committed to Trinity College not long after I met with the Head and Assistant Coaches.  I liked their coaching philosophy and thought I would really enjoy playing baseball on their team.  My goal at the beginning of the recruitment process was to find a college that fit my needs both academically and athletically.  Trinity College has that combination of strong academics and a quality baseball program for which I was looking.

How did the Prospects program help in your college decision?

The Prospects Director of Baseball Operations, Cody Ortega, was an invaluable part of my college recruitment process.  Cody has an in-depth knowledge and appreciation of the recruitment process that was immediately evident.  His honest approach helped me to focus on schools at which I truly had a chance of being recruited.  Cody actively contacted and had a dialogue with many college coaches on my behalf.  He used social media to publicize not only my baseball but also my academic achievements in order to generate interest.  His work ethic and enthusiasm for my success translated into a rewarding college baseball search.  Cody’s role as “agent” for my college recruitment, in and of itself, was worth the price to join the RI Prospects Baseball program.
